We are considering the purchase of a tipi also, so congrats on your taking the plunge. I like a mix of both modern and traditional, but using all traditional materials and decorating in a minimalist style… good luck, and best wishes!!
I much prefer traditional, but I’m a native guy. Tepees are all about mobility and the impermanence of location, while being very secure next to the earth. Tepee as a non-native ‘lifestyle’ strikes me as a little tacky, but knock yourself out. I live in an apartment complex and I find that a little tacky too.
